World TB Day Medical Outreach & Screening
World TB Day Medical Outreach & Screening
In commemoration of World TB Day, Heal The World, in partnership with Mass Life Healthcare, conducted a medical outreach on 24 October 2025 at Durumi IDP Camp, Area 1, FCT Abuja, aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services for vulnerable and displaced populations.
The outreach focused on early detection, prevention, and management of tuberculosis and other communicable diseases. Comprehensive health screening services were provided, including TB screening using chest X-rays, as well as HIV and Hepatitis B screening, to support early diagnosis and prompt referral where necessary.
In addition to disease screening, free medical consultations were offered, and medications were distributed for common illnesses such as malaria and diarrhoeal diseases, addressing immediate healthcare needs within the camp.
Health education sessions were also conducted to raise awareness on tuberculosis prevention, infection control, and the importance of early testing and treatment adherence. Participants were encouraged to seek timely medical care and adopt healthy practices to reduce disease transmission.
The World TB Day Medical Outreach reinforced the shared commitment of Heal The World and Mass Life Healthcare to strengthening public health interventions among underserved communities, improving disease prevention, and promoting healthier living conditions for displaced families.
