Okene Environmental and Health Awareness Campaign

The Okene Environmental and Health Awareness Campaign was organised by Heal The World to address the growing challenge of waste pollution and its impact on public health in Okene and surrounding communities.

The campaign was held on Friday, 5 December 2025, commencing at the Okene Secretariat, under the theme “Say No to Waste Pollution: A Call for Responsible Waste Management for a Healthier Okene and Ebiraland.”

The initiative focused on raising awareness about the health risks associated with poor waste management and environmental degradation. Community members were engaged through sensitisation activities that highlighted the importance of proper waste disposal, environmental cleanliness, and shared civic responsibility.

Residents were encouraged to adopt cleaner environmental behaviours and sustainable waste management practices to reduce pollution and support healthier living conditions. The campaign emphasised that protecting the environment is essential to safeguarding public health and ensuring a sustainable future for Okene and the wider Ebiraland community.
